8 / Waking up at Mr Brownlow’s

When I woke up, I was in a new house. It was bigger and more spacious than Fagin’s house. Everything was clean. It was beautiful; there were chandeliers. It was clear and it smelt good. It was cleaner and warmer than Fagin’s house. It must be a house where owners are certainly rich. I was very surprised to arrive in this house. I thought: “Where am I? Who can tell me? How did I arrive here? I don’t know what’s happening to me!”I was dead tired. I passed out and Mr. Brownlow, the owner of the house, and Mrs. Bedwin, his governess, took me to a bed. When I woke up for the second time, I was in another bed. The governess, Mrs. Bedwin, and Mr. Brownlow were like my parents, they took care of me like nobody had before. I’m happy because I can eat and sleep in good conditions. I am grateful for their hospitality. I feel really lucky!
